15:00pm - 16:45pm
The Festival is delighted to welcome back one of its former Young Artists, now established as one of the UK’s leading pianists. Welshman Llŷ r Williams is widely admired for his profound musical intelligence, and for the expressive and communicative nature of his interpretations. With several Beethoven cycles under his belt, he recently completed a sonata cycle at the Wigmore Hall to great acclaim, and a Beethoven concerto cycle with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. He will be performing works from Schumann, Debussy, Rachmaninov and Scriabin. ‘The sound Williams creates has an irresistible singing quality like no one else’s.’ Washington Post Corn Exchange Newbury RG14 5BD 3.00pm (ends approx 4.45pm) Tickets £22 Buy tickets online here or call the box office 0845 5218 218 (Calls cost 2p per minute plus your telephone company’s access charge) Sponsored by Sir Hugh and Lady Stevenson, and Sir David and Lady Sieff Image © B.G.
